Q: Could you please tell us about ClassIn?
A: ClassIn is all about empowering teachers and students to achieve their full potential. We were formed in 2014 with the mission of pioneering technology to redefine the future of education. That means using technology to build better learning environments, including software that improves instruction across all learning modalities and innovative, effective classroom spaces designed for hybrid and distance learning. Today, we partner with 80,000+ education institutions in 160 countries around the world, and 50 million teachers, administrators and students use our technology to teach, learn, and work more effectively.
In terms of technology, we offer a comprehensive set of future-looking digital and classroom education solutions. These include our Interactive Virtual Classroom, which is a powerful teaching and learning environment with immersive and interactive features such as breakout sessions, hand raising, discussion forums, resource libraries and a virtual lab. Then we have TeacherIn, a comprehensive toolkit which helps teachers prepare lesson plans, search for engaging and relevant educational content and resources, and collaborate with team members. Finally, our LMS and cloud drive gives teachers and students a single point of access to streamed classes and pre-recorded classes and materials.
Q: Can you tell us how technology innovation is driving evolution in teaching and learning?
A: Educational technologies are removing the barriers of geography, giving more students access to high quality instruction. New technologies, like ClassIn, allow teachers and students from all over to connect in meaningful ways, reducing the stress of finding the right instructional talent in the right location to offer a specific class or topic for students. This has also helped provide more flexibility for students and families who are looking for hybrid and remote learning options.
Technology also allows educators to transition from a 'one-size-fits-all' model where all students are expected to go at the same speed with the same materials to a more personalized and learner-centric approach. Each student can access remediation and enrichment resources that help them achieve their learning objectives. This means teachers can start to focus on meeting the individual needs of students.
While educational technology is changing education in many ways – these two, geography and personalization, are doing the most to improve quality and accessibility – delivering major economic and social benefits worldwide.
