TransPeshawar is a bus rapid transit (BRT) system in Peshawar, the capital of Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Being the fourth BRT system in Pakistan, TransPeshawar manages bus routes with a total length of 34 kilometers that are dedicated bus lanes, as well as 32 BTR stations. To boost the commuter experience while also making bus stops run more efficiently, TransPeshawar decided that it was time to invest in digital signage.
They installed 72 Hikvision 55-inch Floor Standing Digital Signage at their 32 bus stops. Featuring high-resolution graphic display and easy remote management of customizable content, these screens are used to display bus schedules including arrival and departure times, which help commuters quickly find the time their bus is arriving. In the event of a bus delay, TransPeshawar can also provide commuters with peace of mind by sending out schedule updates and bus delay notifications on the digital screens.
Aside from this, the digital signage solution also offers TransPeshawar a new source of revenue. With hundreds of thousands of people using bus stops every day, advertising space is a hot commodity. The bus operator can now generate additional revenue by selling the ad space on screens to brands looking to promote their products and services throughout the community.
