The University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, is a public research university in Pakistan. Founded in 1906, it is one of the first major institution of higher agricultural education in the country. With digitalization creating many new possibilities in education, the university found that static images drawn on a whiteboard is no longer sufficient for a productive lecture. From sharing content to annotating that content, both teachers and students have realized the potential for group-wide participation and easy access to the learning content.
To meet the needs of modern classrooms, the university replaced whiteboards in 88 classrooms with interactive flat panels from Hikvision. These smart screens feature a touch system that feels natural and smooth like writing on real paper. They allow direct digital annotation in lectures, which are automatically saved for future reference or sharing. Moreover, the intelligent screens support up to 20 simultaneous touch points, so that students can share their documents and annotations in real-time too. This improves digital collaboration, and helps to turn one-way presentations into engaging conversations.
Aside from these, the built-in 4K camera and 6-array microphone enable teachers to deliver or record lectures in real-time, which ensures that remote learners feel like they are a part of the classroom. As a result, the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad is on the way to distinguish itself with the expertise and infrastructure needed to deliver high-quality, hybrid programs to students.
